About
J. Ferron

Music Production and Sound Design
J. Ferron is a Los Angeles–based Sound Designer & Re-Recording Mixer focused on delivering emotionally driven, story-first sound for film, documentary, and branded content. He brings a hybrid background in sound design, dialogue editing, mixing, and music composition, allowing him to approach audio post with both technical precision and creative instinct.
Ferron currently works with the team at Gypsy Sound, a respected audio post-production studio with more than 15 years in the industry. His recent credits include serving as Sound FX Editor on the Netflix #1 documentary series “AKA Charlie Sheen”, Sound FX Editor on the Amazon Prime documentary series “Taurasi”, and sound design, editorial, and/or mix roles across narrative features, documentaries, commercials, and audiobooks.
Prior to Gypsy Sound, Ferron spent eight years at THE ROOM Studios, where he was instrumental in the company’s growth from one to seven L.A. studio locations in just five years—working as Senior Recording & Mixing Engineer, Co-Manager, and Booking Manager. His blend of creative ability, business sense, and studio leadership gives him a unique edge in the industry.
With a Master’s in Film Scoring from the Cornel School of Contemporary Music, Ferron’s musical foundation enhances his sensitivity to pacing, emotion, and sonic storytelling. He is also the founder of the rock duo Skull Riot, adding a hands-on musician’s perspective to his sound work.
